JESUS IS THE ANSWER FOR MANKIND MINISTRIES
a

FROM THE HEART OF

EVANGELIST BENJAMIN BAUMGARDT

Dear Friends

A few weeks ago I set out to help some special people here in Southeast Georgia . You see many of these people live at home and are not able to get out much because of some form of disability. Many of them feel rather isolated from society and feel alone. You may ask how I know about how these people feel. Well I have cerebral palsy myself and have been in a wheelchair all of my life but I am very happy because I am not alone for Jesus Christ lives in me. I consider myself to be very lucky because God has bless me with a great family. Now you may think that most people in my situation does live for the Lord Jesus Christ and I wish that this was true but, it is not. Did you know that “there are 58 million people with disabilities in the United States alone and that the divorce rate for couples with children having disabilities is over 90 percent and that siblings of a person with disabilities are 4 times more likely to be maladjusted when they grow up than their peers who have typical siblings; that well over 80 percent of people with disabilities do not attend a church and do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and that something needs to be done."

One of the things that I come in contact with is many people in

church love to bring up the fact to me that one day I won’t be in a wheelchair and it thrills my soul to think of that

moment and time that is coming. I get happy when I am reminded of this, but there is also a part of me that wants to take that person by the hand and say to them with love, "But what about now?” And I believe that this is how many people with disabilities also feel. Although I am a Christian and I am looking forward to going home to be with Jesus one day, still I must live in this life for now. And sometimes it seems the church wants to ignore the fact that I to need and desire fellowship and love just like everyone else needs. No, I am not feeling sorry for myself I am happy because The Lord Jesus lives in me and I am never alone.

Also there are people in the church the only thing that they can say is look to Jesus for your healing. And while I do believe that Jesus does heal today I do not believe, as some do, that you have to be totally healed in order for God to live and flow through your life. It is sad but true that sometimes, not always, the church give out a message to people with disabilities that they must first be heal before they can do anything for God. The church need to understand that God can use a person with an disability to be a witness of what God can do for others as well

There is a ministry called Special Touch that ministers to people with disabilities. This ministry is already in fourteen states and we would like to see this ministry here in Georgia also. What they do is they hold a Summer Get Away for people with disabilities where they teach and preach the Word of God. They have a lot of fun playing games while learning about the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, we desire to start a Local Chapter here in Appling County which would serve as a support group to reach out to these people who live around us. We want to let these people know that Jesus loves and cares about them. There is so many other things that this Special Touch Ministry does.

I ask you to read over the brochure and think about the people that you know around you who may have an disability. Then ask yourself “don’t they deserve the chance to here about God love for them. Then let me hear your comments on bringing SPECIAL TOUCH to south geeorgia.

Let me here from you.
